Smoking Hot
It’s another beautiful California day! Yesterday, the temperature reached 89 degrees in SF!
Today will be equally warm. It’s too nice of a day to be cooped up at work. I guess I’ll just enjoy the sunshine when I meet AS for lunch and when I get home from work.
I didn’t sleep well for the 2nd day in the row as it was hot. I feel so tired today.
I wish I was out playing with DH, enjoying the sunshine or laying out by the beach, tropical drink in hand, reading a book I just picked up: “Love in the Time of Cholera” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Has anyone read it?
Question of the day: What would do if you could play hooky today?

I AM playing hooky today and I'm going shoe shopping. And possibly to get my hair cut. And I want to see Spiderman and go to the library and plant some flowers. Man, I need more than one day off. I'm so excited! I wish I had your weather though, it's raining here today..
Massage! Or hanging at the beach.
i hate being at work in the nice weather. but on rainy days i wish i was home too, in bed! hmm.
i'd walk around boston if i could today, hit up a couple bookstores, and a cafe, and buy some shoes. always shoes.
Sleep! working two jobs is taking away from my nap time.
go to the beach! or sit by the pool!
(with sunscreen of course!)
i'm in pacific grove, very similar weather to you.
What would I do if I could get out of work in warm weather? Well, cycling or jogging along the Marina would be a great start. Preferably in the morning. Then, I would go eat brunch at one of my favorite restaurants, lay out at one of the local beaches and then, top it off with some shopping in Marina or in Cow Hollow. Oh and some wine at California Wine Merchants!!!
I've read most of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's books. In Spanish, of course :). They are really thought-provoking!
pack a picnic, go to the beach and breathe it all in.
Great question. I'd prolly pick up my motorcycle leathers since they've been at the cleaners (not really, just a friend that mends/cleans them) for several months now.
If I could play hooky, I'd take someone special and a picnic (with a bottle of wine) to the beach. I'd surf, and spend time in the sun and sand... read, write and enjoy knowing my 'sick' day was used to it's fullest! I'm missing surfing and the beach these days with being all corporate as of late. Blah.
"Love in the time of Cholera" is a great, albeit confusing read. From what I read, there are many characters with the SAME name.
Desiree: I cannot wait until the water gets warmer so I can hit the waves. I absolutely refuse to wear a wet suit.
Brandy - you lucky girl! your day off sounds absolutely FUN. hope you enjoyed it. :)
The Egg - Welcome! Oooh good one, I could use a massage right now.
Brookem - I can't have enough shoes either!
B- Sleep/Nap is always a good thing.
Acaligurl - I like Pacific Grove. DH & I stayed there for a weekend last year. :)
H - Welcome! What is your favorite brunch restaurant in SF?
Kate- Just say beach and I'm there. :)
Aaron - Get those leathers out. :)
Desiree - Welcome! That sounds wonderful. I've never tried surfing but would like to try it once someday.
Ella - I just started the book it's not too confusing, yet. :)
