Mega Millionaire
DH had a dream over the weekend that he won a million or so dollars at a jackpot.
Feeling lucky, he gambled a little bit in Lake Tahoe when we were at a casino over the weekend. He did not win the jackpot but won $30.
When we heard last Tuesday's MegaMillions jackpot was $370M, DH & I bought 25 tickets hoping to possess those 6 lucky numbers.
We looked at the results yesterday morning and was very dissapointed we were not going to be millionaires, despite DH's dream. Oh well. He hit 3 numbers out of the 90 numbers he bought. I got 7 numbers out of the 60 numbers I had overall.
It was fun to dream .... we were playing around and listing the things we'd like to do with the cool cash:
(Not in any particular order)
- Remodel kitchen
- Paint the house
- Remodel the bathroom
- Add a few bedrooms to the house
- Buy Plasma TV
- Reinvest
- Save
- Invest in another home
- Quit (work part time)
- Travel everywhere
- Buy a Hybrid car
- Take care of my family
- Donate to Cancer charities/research (DH's parents both succumbed to cancer)
UPDATE: The other half of the $370M pot remains unclaimed. If you bought your ticket in New Jersey... check your ticket... you could be the missing millionaire.
Question of the day: What would you do if you won the lottery/jackpot?

I'd quit my job and start my own art gallery. I'd never have to worry about actually selling any art!
I love the millionaire dream!
I would have to think about what to do about the money. Definitely some charities and definitely trust funds for my nephews and nieces.
(1) Quit job.
(2) Hire a financial advisor; invest, etc.
(3) Choose a cause and start working on it, giving away the majority of my winnings.
(4) Give super cool gifts to my friends and family.
I bought two tickets, and as I went to check my numbers, I realized I wasn't sure I want to win. It seems like we rarely hear about lottery winners ending up happy.
This question is my second favourite ever. (Right after, how much fun would Jake Gyllenhaal and I have if we ever met?) I would...
1. Pay off student loans (lame but true)
2. Go back to Europe where I could enjoy fanta on the beach
3. Give a lot to my friends/family
4. Develop my idea for a non-profit theatre program for kids.
ella- that sounds cool -- what type of art would you display?
angel jr - trust fund is definitely a good thing for your nephews and nieces. which charities do you favor?
ally - i think i would quit once i get the money and work part time for fun. hiring a financial advisor is a wise move.
brandy - Jake G is hot -- have you seen the new movie Zodiac yet? Oooh I the idea of going to Europe and enjoy a fanta on the beach... gotta love fanta! :)
Who actually needs to save when the payout is 9mil a year for 25yrs? :)
